While articling with a
local upper-tier municipality, Sean learned how to give thorough and informed
advice to different types of clients on a range of complex municipal and land
use planning matters. As an associate lawyer at Wood Bull LLP, Sean now effectively
draws upon his past experiences to support the firm’s lawyers, urban planners,
and its diverse client base.
A major part of Sean’s
role involves advocating for the firm’s clients before the Ontario Land
Tribunal at mediations and case management conferences, preparing detailed
memos that answer emerging legal issues, drafting different agreements, and
regularly keeping clients informed throughout their case. He also frequently
helps the firm’s lawyers prepare for their upcoming tribunal appearances by
preparing procedural documents and coordinating with expert witnesses. Overall,
Sean’s strong organization and time-management skills help him ensure that he
consistently meets his clients’ goals and expectations.
Outside of his work, Sean
continues to build on his own knowledge and skills by building professional
relationships with other legal practitioners through the Ontario Bar
Association’s Municipal Law Section and Young Lawyers Division, and community
events held by The Advocates’ Society.
